چکیده

We investigate the energy-time lag dependence of the source NGC 4593 using XMM-Newton/EPIC-pn data. We found that the time lag dependency is linear in nature with respect to the logarithm of different energy bands. We also investigate the frequency dependent time lags and identify that at some frequency range (5 × 10−5 Hz – 2 × 10−4 Hz) the X-ray emission is highly coherent, mildly frequency dependent and very strongly energy dependent. These observations can be explained in the frame work of the thermal Comptonization process and they indicate a truncated accretion disk very close to the black hole. We discuss the plausible spectral state to explain the phenomenon and conclude that the observed properties bear a close resemblance to the intermediate state or the steep power-law state, found in galactic black hole sources. Subject headings: accretion, accretion disks – black hole physics – galaxies: individual: NGC 4593 -galaxies: Seyferts.

X - Ray Variability Characteristics of the Seyfert 1 Galaxy Ngc 3783

We have characterized the energy-dependent X-ray variability properties of the Seyfert 1 galaxy NGC 3783 using archival XMM-Newton and Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer data. The high-frequency fluctuation power spectral density function (PSD) slope is consistent with flattening towards higher energies. Light curve cross correlation functions yield no significant lags, but peak coefficients generally...

The complex 0 . 1 – 200 keV spectrum of the Seyfert 1 Galaxy NGC 4593

We report on the first observation of the Seyfert 1 galaxy NGC 4593 in the 0.1–200 keV band, performed with the BeppoSAX observatory. Its spectral components are for the first time simultaneously measured: a power-law with photon spectral index Γ ' 1.9; the Compton-reflection of the primary power-law; a moderately broad (σ > 60 eV) Kα fluorescent line from neutral iron; and an absorption edge, ...

Frequency - dependent time lags in the X - ray emission of the Seyfert galaxy NGC 7469

We report the discovery of time lags in the cross-spectra of the X-ray light curves of the Seyfert galaxy NGC 7469. This behavior is common in Galactic black hole and neutron star binaries, and is in the sense that harder X-rays are delayed with respect to the soft with a time lag approximately proportional to the Fourier period. At the longest period probed by our observation (∼ 6 days) we fin...

Improved analysis of ultraviolet and optical monitoring data on the Seyfert 1 galaxy NGC 3783 provides evidence for the existence of a supermassive, (8.7±1.1)×10 M⊙, black hole in this galaxy. By using recalibrated spectra from the International Ultraviolet Explorer satellite and ground-based optical data, as well as refined techniques of reverberation mapping analysis, we have reduced the stat...
